libyans who have been working with the u.s. by not giving their names when he released 166 pages unclassified libya documents. heading tomorrow night's foreign policy debate are, i have to say, more confusing to me as a consumer of news than they have ever been. we talked about this early on. i will put myself in the category of people who were troubled. category of people who were troubled by what seemed to be a distance between what the reporting and what the intelligence agency seemed to be saying and what was coming out of the white house. i thought that gab was worrisome. we talked about it on the show. i don't know what to think anymore because what looked like it first was officially the u.s. government line was this was spontaneous and in reaction to the video. there was a parallel channel of reporting indicating it was premeditated, the work of al qaeda militants and had nothing to do with the video. there was no protest in the video. that is what happened. now we have reporting from the l.a. times and "the new york times" talking to people in benghazi all saying no, dud

is developing from the state department about what really happened when gunmen stormed the u.s. consulate in benghazi, libya and killed four americans including the u.s. ambassador there. the obama administration initially claimed the attacks stemmed from a protest over an anti-islam film produced in the united states. and posted to youtube. but officials at the state department say that was never their conclusion adding there was no protest at all. in fact, diplomats first realized they were under at being a when they heard exploegs and saw armed men entering their compound. a quick response team was dispatched with 60 libyan militia men to try to stop the assault, but they were too late. by then the attackers already had set fire to the building where ambassador chris stevens was hiding. that account directly conflicts the description of the attack provided on "meet the press" by u.s. ambassador to the u.n. susan rice. this was on september 16th, five days after the attack. >> putting together the best information that we have available to us today, our current assessment is

september jobs report showed the u.s. added 114,000 jobs with the unemployment rate dropping to 7.8%. the better news was the bureau of labor statistics was revising job reports for the last two months finding the economy actually added 181,000 jobs up from 141,000 in august. and in august the economy added 142,000 jobs up from the initially lack luster 96,000 initially reported. so there were in total 200,000 new jobs on this jobs report. president obama tried to put today's good news jobs report in context, campaigning in virginia. >> after losing about 800,000 jobs a month when i took office, our businesses have now added 5.2 million new jobs over the past 2 1/2 years. this morning we found out that the unemployment rate has fallen to its lowest level since i took office. more americans entered the work force, more people are getting jobs. it's a reminder that this country has come too far to turn back now. >> mitt romney also campaigning in virginia. not as impressed. >> we don't have to stay in the path we've been on. we can do better. there was a report that just came out this
